Position Overview
The Pre-Sales Engineer for IT Systems will play a critical role in guiding the sales process through expert technical knowledge, solution design, and client engagement. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Server Compute, Storage Design, Active & Passive Networking & Firewall Technologies.
The candidate is to be a subject matter expert (SME) in this domain.
Technical Expertise in Server Design
- Possess in-depth technical knowledge on Server Design
- Ability to design Servers with VM Wares and Virtualization for optimized compute
- Ability to design Servers for high Compute Applications like CCTV Surveillance
- Optimum choice of Servers from HP & Dell for Compute requirements in ELV systems
- Ability to read the RFP specifications and choose the technically compliant & price optimized server
Technical Expertise in Storage Design
- Possess in-depth technical knowledge on Storage Design – DAS, NAS & SAN
- Choosing the right storage for the specific applications like CCTV Video etc
- Ability to design & configure storage requirements based on DAS, NAS & SAN
- Ability to read the RFP specifications and choose the technically compliant & price optimized storage
Technical Expertise in Active Networking
- Possess in-depth technical knowledge on Active Network
- Ability to design Core, Distribution, Aggregation and Edge Networks
- Knowledge of Core Network Switch Selection including Fibre Optic Modules etc
- Knowledge of HP, Cisco, Allied Telesis, Extreme etc product lines
- Knowledge of SME & Enterprise Series of Networking Switches
- Ability to read the RFP specifications and choose the technically compliant & price optimized network switch
Technical Expertise in Passive Networking
- Possess in-depth technical knowledge on Passive Network
- Ability to design both Copper & Fibre Networks
- Ability to choose the right components in Passive Design
- Knowledge of LIU, Copper to FO converters, passive racks etc
- Knowledge of Fibre Optic Cable Laying in Campus and Cities
Technical Expertise in Wireless Networking
- Possess in-depth technical knowledge on Wireless Network
- Ability to design Wireless Access Points using different brands
- Ability to choose the right components in Wireless Networking
- Ability to read the RFP specifications and choose the technically compliant & price optimized wireless access point
Technical Expertise in Firewalls
- Possess in-depth technical knowledge on Firewall Design
- Ability to design Firewalls using different brands
- Ability to read the RFP specifications and choose the technically compliant & price optimized firewall
Vertical Expertise
- Smart City CCTV Solution Design
- Smart Buildings CCTV & Access Solution Design
Solution Design & Configuration
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand client requirements, offering tailored solutions that meet their security needs.
- Design, configure, and quote system solutions ensuring they are practical, competitive, and within project constraints.
Customer Engagement
- Act as the primary technical liaison between the sales team and clients, addressing any technical queries or concerns.
- Attend client meetings and site visits to assess requirements and provide expert insights.
- Must be capable of acting as a SME to convince the customer on our selected stack
- Must be capable of acting as a SME in helping consultants with tender design
Proposal & Documentation
- Support the preparation of technical proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, and system designs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, product sheets, and solution whitepapers.
- Should have a good command on MS Word and MS Excel to make solution documents and costing sheets
Costing Analysis
- Support the sales team by choosing optimum brand with the right pricing
- Co-ordination with OEM for pricing
- Should be able to prepare complete costing sheet in MS Excel
- Should be able to present various options of Technology Stack that meets customer needs both technically & commercially
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, product sheets, and solution whitepapers.
Training & Development
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in IT technologies.
- Take regular training from our OEMs
- Provide training sessions to the sales team on the technical benefits and features of products and solutions.
Qualifications
- B.E in any electrical, industrial or instrumentation stream
- Minimum 5 experience in a pre-sales or technical role, specifically for CCTV and Access Control systems.
- In-depth knowledge of IT
- Preference to CCNA/Equivalent Certification in Network Design
- Preference to Fortinet/Equivalent Certification in Firewall Design
- Preference to Certifications in Server & Storage Design
- Preference to VMWare design Certification
